Rajdhani College was established in 1964 by the Delhi Administration in Kirti Nagar, New Delhi under the name of Government College and was renamed as Rajdhani College when the Delhi administration vested its governance in an autonomous Governing Body. Rajdhani College is a constituent college of the University of Delhi and has completed 50 glorious years of academic excellence.
The College is situated in West Delhi on Mahatma Gandhi Marg (Ring Road) near Raja Garden, New Delhi and is accessible from all corners of Delhi. Ramesh Nagar and Rajouri Garden Metro Stations are just a few steps away from the college. ESI Hospital is just round the corner. Its strategic location makes the college much sought after apart from its academic excellence.
Initially the college was started in a school building at Kirti Nagar with negligible facilities but with the efforts of the Governing Bodies, faculty and administrative staff, the college becomes one of the best colleges of University of Delhi. To cater the increasing number of students a beautiful and spacious college building was constructed in 1976-77 which was inaugurated by the then President of India Sh. Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed. Recently a new academic block has been built to accommodate the ever increasing number of students. The two storeyed new block has eight new class rooms, one computer lab and one biology lab along with a lift. The college complex has an air-conditioned Seminar/Conference Room, an air-conditioned Auditorium, a well-stocked Library with Computer & Internet facility with access to more than one lac scholarly books and ebooks on various subjects. The college has well-equipped Science Laboratories, as well as Math and Computer Laboratories.
A Robotics laboratory in collaboration with e-Yantra IIT Bombay has been established in the current academic year. It was formally inaugurated on 16th January 2015. This lab is also a part of an initiative of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) through National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT) to promote education in embedded systems and robotics throughout the country. To facilitate recreation the college has a beautiful playground for outdoor sports activities like cricket, football, hockey, volley ball, etc.

Our college today is looked upon by the academic community of Delhi as one of the most excellent institutions for its progressive outlook towards teaching, learning and co-curricular activities. We offer courses in: Commerce, Humanities, and Social Science, and Science Stream. Among the different honours courses the college offers Bachelor with Honours Commerce, Bachelor with Honours in English, Hindi, Sanskrit, History, Political Science, Economics, and Bachelor with Honours in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Electronics. Apart from that the college also offers B. Tech. Electronics, and B. Tech. Computer Sciences. The college also offers post graduate courses in English, Hindi, History and Commerce. For an overall development of the students co-curricular activities are organised through various societies. Every department has its own society which conducts regular academic programmes and events relating to its subject area. Apart from the departmental societies like the Economics Society, English Literary Society (ELA), Physics and Electronics Society, Robotics Society, there are other societies and committees as well. The Debating Society aims on developing a sharp and logical mind and organises debates on stimulating topics. The Cultural Committee organises various cultural activities so that the students remain deeply rooted in their culture and respect and value other cultures, also.‘Abhivyakti‘ specializes in promoting dance and drama and thus it provides an exclusive space for expression to the students. It also acts as a catalyst to bring out the hidden talents of the students. Trekking, Mountaineering and Environmental Protection Club offers students opportunities for personality development and enrichment by means of promoting environmental appreciation, awareness and During last fifty years the faculty and students brought laurels to the college in all fields like Dr. Rama Kant Shukla a Padam shri, Dr. Ram Babu Gupta an International Cricket umpire, Sh S B L Sharma and Dr. H M Lumb National Mountaineer, Sh.
